Athena is an eight year old Belgian Appaloosa Cross. She stands 15.2hh and is the friendliest mare I've seen in a long time. She is very willing to be alone with you. She loves it when you give her treats. She even knickers to get another treat. She is almost a pocket pooch, a little too big to be one, but I'm sure if I let her she would try and jump in my pocket. Athena is the kind of horse that even if you are a little nervous she will show you how gentle a horse can be. Athena has so much character and an A+ personality that she can make anyone love horses. Athena is limited to things she can do as she has heaves. So it all depends on what time of the year it is with her. When she first came to me she had a bad cough and wheezing. I gave her some Zev which has helped her out. Right now she is on pasture and her breathing is normal but Athena will always have heaves now. There is no cure for it yet, but veterinary science has come a long way with effective treatments. Mercifully, it is no longer an end all for a horse as Athena deserves to live in comfort and contentment and I continue to hope that some day there will be an effective cure for her disease. Thank you Athena for coming into my life
Dalia is the newest member of my family. She will be coming home on Sunday and welcomed with open arms. She is a three month old Reg AQHA. My goals with her is to turn her into an all around good working horse. She will be shown so watch for updates on how she does. Dalia has come into my life at a very good time. I can't wait to start playing with her and teaching her the ropes. She already does more than enough for her age but I will keep up what has already been done with her. She is very quiet. Dalia also has one of those soft eyes that keeps you looking. As she grows I will post pictures for all of you to see her story unfold. God bless those little babies |
Well everyone here is one of our newer members. She is an aged Quarter Horse mare and just as sweet as can be. I got her to help me teach new riders how to ride and she has done much more than that.. When she came in she was just the most upset girl you could ever see.. She called for her friends for the entire day, and you guessed it nobody answered her.. As she saw she was safe and sound she found new friends.. She has also taken on Dalia as her baby.. You never see them apart very often.. They both put a smile on my face every single day.. As do the others.. I am also happy to say that her back has come up and it is almost normal again. She is doing great and I am so happy to have her..
Jessi may you be around for many more years to come..
